COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Lady Cougar soccer team dropped a tough match Wednesday night against Tomball Memorial at Cougar Field.
Both teams created a few chances to score in the first half, but neither was able to find the back of the net, and the game remained tied at halftime.
Midway through the second period the Memorial forward beat the Cougar defense and shot a high ball over the Cougar keeper to make the score 1-0.
With the loss CSHS drops to 7-3 on the season. Next action is Tuesday night at Magnolia (JV at 4:30, Varsity at 6:30).
In JV action, the Lady Cougs defeated Memorial 4-0 in their first match of the year. Scoring for College Station were Shannon Gaines (2 goals, 1 assist), Megan Fowler, and Emily Sellers. Sabrina Burns and Kirstyn Sosa also notched assists. Goalkeeper Alexis Hart recorded the shutout.
