Lady Cougars Come Up a Win Shy of State Soccer Tournament

HUMBLE, Texas -- Friendswood scored a pair of goals in the final six minutes of the match to beat College Station 2-0 in the 4A Region III championship.

Tink Castillo scored what proved to be the game winner with 5:40 left to play on an assist from Selina Vickery. Anna Moore added a long goal just over a minute later for some insurance.

The Mustangs advance to the state tournament in Georgetown while the Lady Cougars see a great season end with a record of 22-4.

On the year, the Cougars scored 90 goals and only allowed nine, recording 21 shutouts in the process.
