COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The College Station Lady Cougar soccer team defeated the Bryan Vikings 1-0 Saturday at A&M's Ellis Field.
While the Cougars controlled most of the possession in the first half, both teams were limited to just a couple of chances on goal. In the first fifteen minutes of the second half, College Station put pressure on the Viking defense.
About 10 minutes into the second half, Cougar Steele Fancher's early ball found Jaylen Hinckley who was able to beat the Bryan goalie at the near post. College Station went 2-1 in the Brazos Cup to improve to 7-2 on the year.
The stout Cougar defense notched its 7th shutout on the season. Next action is Tuesday at Cougar Field against Tomball Memorial (4:30 JV, 6:30 Varsity)
