LUFKIN, Texas -- The A&M Consolidated Baseball team didn't have their best outing on Tuesday night, as they were taken down 5-1 on Lufkin's home turf.
The Consol men managed one run, three hits, and compiled four errors; while Lufkin scored five runs, on nine hits, with one error.
Tyler Landers went 1 for 4 in the game driving in Zach Smith for the lone run of the game. Kyle Barfield and Dakota Beamon knocked the other two hits for Consol.
Barfield went the distance on the hill for the Tigers, striking out four, walking none, and allowing four earned runs of the five that were scored. 55 of his 84 pitches were strikes, and half of his batters faced received first pitch strikes. Barfield got the loss on the game.
The Tigers are now 6-9 on the season, 0-1 in district play. Consol will play next at home on March 20th against The Woodlands.
