BRYAN, Texas -- The Magnolia West softball team beat the Lady Rangers at home on Tuesday night.
The Lady Rangers had seven errors and five hits on the night, and Magnolia West had three errors and 12 hits in the 11-4 game in Bryan. Magnolia scratched at least one run every inning except the fourth, scoring five in the second inning and three in the third. The Lady Rangers had a strong fifth inning but couldn't keep hold of the momentum.
Meghan Carpio went 1 for 3 offensively, scoring one of Rudder's four runs. Ashlee Howard had one RBI and scored two runs, Rosemary Fazzino had an RBI, and Darby Jones went 2 for 3, scoring one run. Melanie Savala had two hits in the game.
Kadie Eynon of Magnolia went 3 for 4 with two RBIs and scoring two runs. Sokloski, Moore, Washington, Hedrick, and Adams each had a hit and scored one run. Golke went 2 for 2 with two runs scored, and Zaras and Blakey each scored once.
On the mound for Rudder, Carli Holekamp pitched 1.2 innings, gave up three hits, six runs (one earned), and struck out one batter. Of Holekamp's 35 pitches, 22 were strikes. Rebecca Delgado pitched 4.1 innings, gave up nine hits, five runs (three earned), one walk, and struck out three. Of Delgado's 68 pitches, 44 were strikes.
The Lady Ranger's next game will be at home against Waller on Friday, April 4th with JV starting at 5 and Varsity at 7.
