HUNTSVILLE, Texas The Montgomery Bears beat the Huntsville Hornets 44-20 Friday night at Bowers Stadium in the district 18-4A opener for both teams.
Huntsville took the opening possession of the game and marched 75 yards for a touchdown. Morie Evans capped off the drive with a one yard touchdown run.
Montgomery would score 31 unanswered points to take a 31-7 halftime lead. Quarterback Josh Bolfing threw two touchdown passes and scored on a touchdown run during that stretch. The Bears would continue to roll in the second half.
Huntsville will return to action September 20 when they travel to Bryan to face Rudder. Montgomery be at home September 20 to take on Caney Creek.
