Rudder Boys In First Place At State Gymnastics Meet

ALVIN, Texas -- The Rudder boys' gymnastics team is in first place at the state meet in Alvin after the Compulsories.

Rudder leads two time defending state champion Saginaw by 2.15 points.

Rudder Head Coach J.T. Fletcher and Rudder entered the state meet as the favorites, and were expected to lead by a couple of tenths. A 2.15 lead is impressive by the Rangers who are looking to knock off two time defending state champion Saginaw and win their 2nd state championship in 4 years.

Rudder was paced by Taylor and Tim Fletcher. In the All Around competition Taylor is in first place with 59.2 points. Tim is second with 58.3 points.

The boys' competition resumes Friday at 3:50 with the Optionals.

The Optionals take place tomorrow starting at 3-50.
