BRYAN, Texas -- Rudder High School hosted it's 1st Annual Rudder Ranger Lift-A-Thon Wednesday evening at The Armory.

As a fundraiser for the Ranger football program, athletes have been collecting sponsorships of $10 each. During the Lift-A-Thon, each athlete attempted to do his personal best on the Bench Press, lifting until he reaches his max. Junior Linebacker Spencer Choka was able to successfully lift 335 pounds.

The Lift-A-Thon emphasizes the importance of the Rudder "off-season strength program" as well as team spirit. Rudder Head Football Coach Will Compton said proceeds raised during the event will go toward the purchase of new varsity uniforms next season.
