BRYAN, Texas -- The A&M Consolidated Tigers will square off against Longview in the 3rd Round of the Class 5A Division II State Football Playoffs.
The Tigers and Lobos will play Saturday at 4pm in Midlothian. A&M Consolidated beat Kingwood in their playoff opener 55-45 and then avenged a playoff loss to Austin Westlake last week with a 41-16 victory over Austin Westlake.
Having a team that can put the Thanksgiving Day Holiday on hold for football practice takes discipline.
"Every year that is my number one goal," said Tiger Head Football Coach David Raffield. "If you get to Thanksgiving Day practice something special has happened to your team. You're playing well and you've got a chance," continued Raffield.
"We are so excited to workout Thursday morning!"
Saturday will mark the first ever meeting between the Tigers and Lobos. The winner will advance to the Regional Semifinals where they will face either Lake Travis or Dallas Jesuit who play Saturday at 2pm.
