BRYAN, Texas -- The Bryan Vikings will return to Merrill Green Stadium Friday night to host The Woodlands at 7:30pm. It will be the Vikings first game there since September 27 when they opened District 14-5A play 36-33 loss to Oak Ridge.
Bryan enters the game 2-6 on the season and 0-4 in District 14-5A play. The Highlanders are 5-2 overall and 3-0 in district play. The Woodlands is one of two unbeaten teams in District 14-5A. Oak Ridge is 3-0.
The Woodland beat Bryan 54-14 last season.
The A&M Consolidated Tigers made things look easy last week against College Park. The Cavaliers came into that game with the top defense in the District 14-5A and the Tigers rolled to a 41-7 win.
This week the Tigers hit the road to battle unbeaten Oak Ridge with a playoff berth on the line. Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Buddy Moorhead Stadium in Conroe.
The College Station Cougars will be back home on Friday as they take on Westbury Christian. The Cougars posted a 40 to nothing win last week over Tomball Christian in a game where they had no turnovers. They'll try to build on that as they take on a TAPPS team out of Houston that will certainly have the advantage with a numbers and size.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 at Cougar Stadium in College Station.
The Rudder Rangers will be on the road Friday night. Rudder is still looking for their first win of the year. The Rangers have dropped 9 straight games.
A year ago Rudder beat Willis 26-20 at Merrill Green Stadium. It was the last game the Rangers have won.
Kickoff in Willis is set for 7:30 at Burton Yates Stadium.
