BRYAN, Texas -- It will be a busy night of high school football across the Brazos Valley on Friday night. The Bryan Vikings will be on the field at Merrill Green Stadium to host former district rival Belton.

The Vikings are coming off a 42-28 win over Magnolia last week. Belton scored 46 points in a loss to Stony Point. With the two teams combining to score 88 points Bryan Defensive Coordinator Bret Paige knows there could be a lot of offense in the game.

"Fair to say. We are hoping to make sure we keep their points down but we have two really good offenses and hopefully we can slow each other down a little bit." The Vikings and Tigers will kick-off at 7:30pm at Merrill Green Stadium.

The question around Tigerland this week is will A&M Consolidated post a 44-41 win for the 3rd straight week? The odds on it happening a week ago were highly unlikely, but that was the final score against Midway.

Friday the Tigers will travel to Austin to battle Westlake and Consol Head Coach David Raffield hopes his team's play is a little more consistent.

"I hope the execution becomes a little bit better because we got sloppy a few different times in the game and we are so close to making great plays on defense. We've created 6 turnovers in the last two weeks. We've just given up a few to many big plays."

The was also the case a year ago in the playoffs when Westlake ended Consol's season following a 45 to 2 win.

The College Station Cougars are unbeaten on the year after a season opening win over Schulenburg and last week beating Waco Reicher.

Tomorrow night the Cougars will be back home and tested by an Aldine Davis team that presents two problems: size and speed.

"They can throw the ball around the field," said Cougar Head Coach Steve Huff. "They can run it too. They have two kids that can take it the distance at anytime so defensively were definitely going to have to tackle well in the open field. Offensively size wise they are very big in the defensive front so were going to have to get on bodies and say on bodies Friday night to have success."

The Rudder Rangers will open up District 18-4A play on Friday on the road as they take on Magnolia. Game time is set for 7:30 at Bulldog Stadium in Magnolia.
