The Aggie football team held a scrimmage tonight as they continue working towards their season opener at South Carolina August 28.
Afterwards, Kevin Sumlin said the quarterback battle was still a dead heat between Kenny Hill and Kyle Allen.
Tackle Cedric Ogbuehi did not participate in the 92 play scrimmage with a bruised heel. Neither did cornerback De'Vante Harris, who has been out with what Sumlin says is a urinary tract injury.
Two players who did play today caught Sumlin's eye: running back Brandon Williams and middle linebacker Jordan Mastrogiovanni. "I thought Brandon had a big day running the ball. He's been on a mission all camp. He came in great shape, was very physical, and had some good runs and did some really good things. Jordan Mastrogiovanni made some plays today on the perimeter and some tackles for losses. I'd say off the top of my head those two guys jumped out to me," Sumlin said.
He also said the Aggies would get three practices inside Kyle Field before the home opener against Lamar September 6.
Texas A&M will not practice on Sunday.
