There is no taking the weekend off for the Texas A&M football team. The Aggies reported for preseason camp on Thursday, hit the field for their first practice on Friday, and got back after it tonight.
The Aggies were on the Coolidge Grass Practice Fields for about two and a half hours.
The big question around the Aggie program is whether Kenny Hill or Kyle Allen will be the starting quarterback. That decision will come later this month, but no matter who is running the offense this season, they will have plenty of weapons to work with, especially in the wide receiving corp led by senior Malcome Kennedy.
Wide receivers coach David Beaty said, "He's done a great job leading for us and we absolutely need that. We have expected that out of him. He has done a really nice job of that. I think there is a lot of competition in that room. I have said this before, that is a coaches' best friend. It may be the best we have had since I have been here. There are a lot of hungry guys. Of course there are three spots that nobody has been able to lock those down so there is a lot of competition for those spots and playing time."
The Aggies will return to the practice field on Monday.
