COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The Eagle Sports Writers Larry Bowen and David Campbell have contemplated organizing a photo day for Brazos Valley High School football teams for a couple of years and Friday it happened.
Over 100 players representing 22 area teams showed up at A&M Consolidated's Tigerland Stadium to take pictures, filled out questionnaires, and conducted interviews with several media outlets about the upcoming season.
"When I was in Corsicana we did the same thing in the surrounding area in what they called the 'Golden Circle' which is what we call the Brazos Valley down here," said Normangee Head Football Coach Kevin Morton. "You get to bring your athletes together to talk a little bit as well as interaction with other players."
High school football practice will kick off Monday for teams competing in Class 1A-4A. 5A & 6A will have to wait until August 11th.
