BREMOND, Texas -- Bremond, with seven starters back on offense and eight returning on defense, is primed to make another deep playoff run.
The Tigers will shift all-district receiver Rayandre Browning to quarterback to replace Cade Grych, return James Jones at tailback, and Evan Sargent and Josh Anderson at receiver. “We will be able to count on our experience at the skill positions,” said Kasowski. “Our offensive and defensive lines will need to develop.” Bremond returns three starters on the O-line, and all three earned all-district honors a year ago.
All eight Bremond returning defensive starters were all-district last season, and cornerback Sargent earned an all-state nod as well. With three starters back, the secondary looks to be the strength of the Tigers 5-2 defense. Jarvis Jones, Hunter Stuard, and Hamilton Hull are back on the line, as are both starters at linebacker in Anderson and Mason Pruitt.
Realignment shifts the Tigers road trips mainly to the south-west, as the Tigers will join Bartlett, Burton, and Milano as teams that made the play-offs a year ago. The game with Burton October 17 and at Milano the following Friday could go a long way in deciding the 13-2A Division II district champ, but, win or lose those games, expect the Tigers to make a fifth straight trip to the playoffs.
