BRYAN, Texas — The Aggieland Homeschool Spartans lost in the Texas Association of Independent Athletic Organizations semifinals last year, and they've used the motivation of that loss all off-season to fuel what they hope is another deep playoff run in 2014.
"Yes sir, it's definitely a lot of motivation," said Spartans safety and running back Eann Felder. "Coming up in third place, nobody's really satisfied with that so we've always got to step it up, always want improvement."
"I think we're going to have a good year. We have a lot of work to do but we'll have a good year," said Spartans nose guard, fullback, linebacker, and receiver John Tedford.
"We got to the semifinals last year and I think we could have rivaled them if we had a lot more players," Spartans quarterback, running back, center, and linebacker John Holtzapple added. "We got three new guys so I think we'll be for the state championship."
The Spartans kick off the season August 29th at Bastrop Tribe Consolidated.
