Former Texas Tech head football coach Mike Leach was in the Brazos Valley Friday as the guest speaker at the Brazos County Bar Association's annual luncheon.
The attorney, who is now coaching at Washington State, talked about an number of topics, The Redevelopment of Kyle Field, Johnny Manziel as he makes the move to the NFL, and whether or not college football players should be considered professionals.
"If you think they are professionals coming out of high school, if you need to wire your house, you don't need to hire an electrician. Just go get some kid that was in the science club in high school and have him wire your house."
Hard to argue that logic by "The Pirate".
Leach said one of his fondest memories at Tech was a 70-17 win over Nebraska in Lincoln and his Red Raiders were accused of running up the score by a school notorious of doing 'just' that.
