HUNTSVILLE, Texas -- The Sam Houston State football program took prat in the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for ALS following practice on Tuesday. Bearkat Athletic Director Bobby Williams was challenged by Sam Houston State president Dana G. Hoyt. The Bearkat coaching staff was challenged by her husband John. The Sam Houston quarterbacks were challenged by former Bearkat and current Tampa Bay quarterback Josh McCown.
ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. The Ice Bucket Challenge donations have reached 22.9 million dollars.
