HEARNE, Texas -- Coming off their best season in years the Eagles are looking for an even better year in 2013.
Hearne’s offense could be outstanding, as seven starters return from last year’s squad that averaged just under 30 points per game. Kyle Castilleja is back under center, and he will have good weapons to work with in backs MarcJavion McGrew and Devanta Jefferson and receiver TreDerrion Satchell. Three starters are back on the line, led by all-district selection Adam Boxley.
The defense returns five starters: Boxley on the line, Jefferson in the secondary, and Leron Thomas, Caleb Tinnell, and Isaiah Scott at the Eagles most experienced position, linebacker.
Hearne has to play six games on the road this season, including two non-district games at rival Franklin and a New Waverly team the Eagles beat twice last season. The eight-team 11-2A Division II will be tough once again, as Hearne will look to challenge Centerville and Crawford for the district title and punch their ticket to the playoffs for the second year in a row.
