COLLEGE STATION According to Sports Illustrated, CBS Sports will have an extra camera at Saturday’s game against Alabama to focus on Johnny Manziel. The article sites CBS Sports producer, Craig Silver, saying, “No matter where he is and no matter what part of the game it is, we will have a shot of it.”
This weekend’s game is one of the most anticipated of the season for college football. News 3 will start coverage at 12:30 p.m. with the award winning pre-game show, Aggie Gameday, live from the Fan Zone at Kyle Field. CBS will begin special coverage of Saturday’s matchup live in College Station at 1:30 p.m. with a look at last year’s game, a preview of the upcoming game and a look at games throughout the weekend leading up to the game. CBS will air the game in its entirety and News 3 at 6 will air immediately following the game with highlights.
ESPN’s College Gameday will also air live from College Station on Saturday.
The Sports Illustrated article also touted viewers for Saturday’s game, “As for viewer tune-in, the game is guaranteed to get monster ratings. Excluding last year's SEC Championship Game, CBS's most-watched college football game in 2012 was Alabama's win over LSU last Nov. 3. That game averaged 11.4 million viewers and this should easily top it.”
