You guys can talk all the trash you want about who is the better team. What really matters is when the teams leave the field and the bands come on on. I remember one time at band camp we played football and ever since then I cant see what all the talkin is about. Our band is d bomb.

Posted by: cwell Location: caldwell on Aug 13, 2008 at 08:43 PM

Stop living in the past James. After we beat Rockdale I will still allow you to post comments on kbtx, just to make sure that you are still alive and have not taken the beating to heart. Rockdale is the least of our worries

by the way james from college station.i'm from navasota so it's not about looking at pictures i know pretty much everything about the team. dont get it twisted fella

Posted by: conroe 1983 Location: conroe on Jul 9, 2008 at 12:37 PM
d1 d2 it really dont matter nobodys gonna be able 2 stop navasota.come on u know & i know it. how far did rockale go in the playoffs last year LOL.& they lost alot of players. & rockdale almost beat liberty hill lol it dont matter if they almos beat them did they NOPE.it dont matter if u loose by a point or 21 points a loss is still a lost.rockdale will make the playoffs no dought look at our district but they wont beat navasota. PEBBLEROCK i mean rockdale SUCKS

Posted by: james Location: college station on Jul 8, 2008 at 07:36 PM
conroe183....after you finished looking at the pictures in texas high school football magazine you didnt notice that navasota is a is in D1 not D2. You also failed to note that rockdale almost beat liberty hill last year. I have no doubt that navasota will have a good team but they will not go 10 and 0 and poor little snakebite will cry all the way home............

Posted by: conroe183 Location: conroe on Jun 30, 2008 at 03:34 PM
rockdale dont have a chance in hell 2 beat navasota i got the texas high school football magazine name at least 4 main players from yall's team that will be coming back. i bet u cain't. i done read all about district 24 3a. they have navaota picked 2 win state over china springs. nobody in that district will beat navasota. madisonville would have the bst chance ta beat them but all they have coming back is chris whaley he caint do it by his self. so my prediction NAVASOTA PERFECT SASON 10-0 6-0 IN DISTRICT PLAY D2 CHAMPIONS.

Posted by: Snakebite Location: NAVASOTA on Jun 23, 2008 at 10:31 AM
What, Rockdale hahahaha your Crazy James from college station. Your out of your mind. We are going to hit you so hard you are going to have to rename the town to pebblerock. HAHAHAHA Bring it on Brother.

Navasota will get beat by Rockdale............

Posted by: conroe1983 Location: conroe on Jun 16, 2008 at 01:02 PM
has anyone seen the new texas football magazine. i have. what do u think about the top 10 rankings. LIBERTY HILL DEFENDING 2 TIME STATE CHAMPOINS BACK 2 BACK #1 OR NAVASOTA #2. i think navasota should easley be in the #1 spot reguarding NAVASOTA has alot of players commong back from last year's team #22 DEX,#1 B.JACKSON & #5 J.STOKES the main 3. on the other hand LIBERTY HILL has pretty much nobody comming back. all the main players gradiated. so ya'll tell me what u think on this topic

Posted by: Snakebite Location: Navasota on May 12, 2008 at 11:52 AM
Do we even play hearne this year. If we do my bad I even overlooked the eagle eggs on the schedule.

Posted by: rattlers #15 Location: NAVASOTA on May 11, 2008 at 12:20 AM
yea yea everybody talks about how navasota sucks and navasota aint this but look at what we've accomplished: football region quarter finalist, girls basketball made it to state boys basketball area finalist, cant say the same for caldwell or hearne or anybody else in our district and plus come on none of yall can mess with us in 7 on 7 if u wana get out there lets go. we got brandall jackson= automatic moss, gaston lamascus= u cant cover him then at running back tha star prospect DP!!!

I am not Give It Up. As much as I am disappointed that we had a rough go against Kirbyville, I will NOT scorn them. As I have said before, they played their butts off all year and that playoff game was no different. Indicating that I live in Copperas Hollow just proves that the poster was not me because anybody who knows me well knows that I don't like people knowing that I live there because they think that I am rich. Good luck next year Hornets. I hope we continue to stop the run because we have two of the top players in the state at the RB position. Tom Lemming's 2009 recruiting rankings have t.u. commit Whaley at #4 overall in the nation and Pratt in the Top 50. Rivals doesn't rate them near that high, but they will be tough to handle. Pratt projects as a LB or S and he could be a heck of a college player- probably at LSU. I hope we're ready for Bellville, Splendora, Shepherd, and Waco Connally. I hope this clears thinks up whoever "my" ex is supposed to be.

Just for future reference, KBTX, please delete anyone's comments concerning schools NOT currently in the playoffs. This drama is boring. Please keep the talk geared towards those STILL IN. Thank you and GO BIG BLUE~~Michigan, yes.

Oh good Lord "barrassed", how can you claim to speak for the ENTIRE city, county and community? You, like me, are ONE person, not the entire county! Please get over yourself and stop claiming to speak for everyone! I will continue to speak out when ignorant people post things that insult our players and team, or that are simply untrue. I have not called/emailed/faxed anyone because I have no reason to. I simply am expressing my opinion, which I am entitled to do. Being attacked by people such as yourself does not surprise me...people like you do it all the time. Do what you may ask? Well, I'll let you figure that one out. If you have to be told, then that only proves my point once again.

Posted by: BLUE Location: FAN on Dec 5, 2007 at 08:16 AM
I think that you are right, there is a little cop out going on here, but it is all in the name of support. I do think that we are a better team, but that is not taking anything away from the fact that you guys got where you did. I am not by any means saying that you should not be proud of all teams in the district. I am proud to live in our town that shows support for our guys no matter win or lose. I hope that next year is better and given the fact that we will have PRATT, returning I am looking forward to some good football. Navasota fans are proud of all teams that made it to the playoffs, but you have to admit, NOBODY thought we would get as far as we did. And as a fan of another team you were hoping for the lose early on. Of Course you came out and supported us, We were the only team left for you to support. Dont act like you did it jsut becasue you are loyal fans of our district football teams. Come on, give me a break. I will agree with you on 1 point GOOD JOB @ ALL

Posted by: AnotherJacket Location: BeyondCaldwellThankGod on Dec 4, 2007 at 11:29 PM
Yellowjacket, that's the way it is and always will be in Caldwell. You obviously know it and the town definitely knows it bit won't say anything. A top notch team can't consist of "big last name locals" who don't know snap counts or rely mainly on instinct to make a play or score a touchdown. It won't change I guarantee. Find another school because it's not getting any better there.

Posted by: SwarmParentbarassed Location: Caldwell on Dec 4, 2007 at 11:20 PM
Sorry you mis-took my response SWARM, let's try this again. We, the city, the county, the community, have/do/will always support(ed) our "boys". That statemtment was not sent towards them. We, however, are tired of phone calls and e-mails of you who is refusing to let this season go. Please go along with '09 from Giddings and allow this site to remain with the current stats going on. Oh and James. . you crack me up. . ty.

Posted by: Truth Hurts Location: Caldwell on Dec 4, 2007 at 08:54 PM
Caldwell can call me a fair weather fan, but there's no way in HELL that Navasota was better than Caldwell. Caldwell even had a late interception TD taken back which should have made it 51-29. The Rattlers didn't have a bad night. They got an humbling case of Hornet-itis. Case closed.

Posted by: james Location: college station on Dec 4, 2007 at 03:03 PM
Good post Swarm i think that you nailed it 100 per cent....I know of a number of people that went to temple and supported navasota just because they were proud of the district and the job they did this year... by the way i was going to swim across the gulf of mexico but had a bad week and couldnt make it.. i am sure if i tried again i will make it...come on blue give us a break....we would have beat madisonville but they had the number 1 running back in the nation, we would have beat giddings but the refs cheated us, we would have beat caldwell but we werent feeling good that night, we would have beat liberty hill but they are the number 1 team in the state,(blue what poll are you looking at i havent seen one that listed them number 1)......good job to all district 23 teams in all sports....

Posted by: '09 Location: black and gold field on Dec 4, 2007 at 01:47 PM
wow, district 23-3A football is over and there's still trash talk goin' on. why can't we just congratulate each other on our district's success? this is my last post, so until next year see ya'll! Congrats 23-3A for a great season!

Posted by: SWARM Location: Caldwell on Dec 4, 2007 at 11:01 AM
BLUE of course you are going to say Caldwell came in on a "bad week" for ya'll. That is such a cop out. Admit that the Rattlers got beat by the Hornets and quit making excuses. I was also at the Liberty Hill-Navasota game (cheering for Navasota -- yes, we were behind D23 even AFTER Caldwell lost). No, LH did not give up in the 2nd half, but they did not run up the score as they could have. Congratulations to the Hornets, Buffaloes and Rattlers this year. All three teams played great football and represented our district well.

THE RATLLERS BASKETBALL SEASON KICKS OFF TONIGHT AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT WILL BE A GOOD ONE. GOOD LUCK MEN ALL THE WAY TO STATE THIS YEAR

Posted by: BLUE Location: FAN on Dec 4, 2007 at 08:31 AM
Swarm- Gidding beat Caldwell by more than Navasota so actually just becasue you guys came in on a bad week for us does not mean that you are a better team. Yes Liberty hill did beat the hell out of us but that is the #1 team in the state and you guys cant even say that you got beat by them, b-cuz you did not even make it that far. I know that you want to put other teams down to make yourself feel good but trust me it will not work. We are better than you and given a re-match I think there would be no doubt that we could beat you!!!! Navasota can at least show how proud we are of our players and all that they have accomplished. Can Caldwell say that? Judgeing from this post it dosen't look like it. Just so you know I was at all Rattler games and I know more than you think, I can tell you that Liberty Hill did not give up the second half we stopped them for a touchdown on the 2 yard line. So until you know all the facts maybe you should stop posting.

Posted by: SWARM Location: Caldwell on Dec 4, 2007 at 08:24 AM
If you are swarmbarrassed, go somewhere else. You should be defending the team, not picking on the people who actually care. It is people like you that bring the "boys" down, as well as the rest of the town. The MAYOR of Caldwell came out and supported the team, and still does even though THE SEASON is over. YOU "swarmbarrass" us by admitting you are from Caldwell.

Posted by: Caldwel Swarmembarrased Location: Caldwell on Dec 3, 2007 at 11:11 PM
SWARM, once again, the season is over. It's time to step away, and reflect. Please forget your stats, your comments, and your lack of insults. Everytime you choose to keep the misery going, your boys are feeling the pain more and more. Let it go please. The city of Caldwell begs you.

Hey give it up. You seem to talk so good about the team as a student rep. at the home square pep rally saying they worked their "butts" off yet you now downgrade your own team and band. Make up your mind please.

Posted by: Caldwell SWARM Location: Caldwell on Dec 3, 2007 at 03:19 PM
Hey Blue Fan, how can you say Caldwell has no room to talk. Caldwell BEAT Navasota AT THEIR OWN FIELD! The score was 44-29 in case you forgot. And Giddings did not beat the hell out of either Caldwell (21-7) or Navasota (21-14). Now, Liberty Hill on the other hand, they stomped Navasota a new one in the 1st half, and thank goodness they called the dogs off in the 2nd half or the score would have been AT LEAST 70 points or more! If you are going to post on here, at least know the facts before you start posting!

Posted by: BLUE FAN Location: NAVASOTA on Dec 3, 2007 at 12:44 PM
GOOD JOB BOYS!!!! YOU SHOWED ENERYONE THAT YOU ARE A FORCE TO BE RECKONED WITH. IF IT WERENT FOR THE CHEATERS ON THE FIELD THE NIGHT WE PLAYED GIDDING(REFS) WE WOULD HAVE BEATEN THEM AND CALDWELL PLEASE LIKE YOU HAVE ANY ROOM TO TALK. GIDDINGS BEAT THE HELL OUT OF YOU BUT NOT US NOW DID THEY.... YOU NEED TO THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK, ECSPECIALLY IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT. REALLY YOU SHOULD BE PROUD OF YOUR TEAM FOR WHAT THEY DID ACCOMPLISH. FOR YOU THAT TALK ABOUT THEM GOING HUNTING WHO CARES, IF THEY ARE OUT OF THE PLAYOFFS SO BE IT. WHO WANTS TO INTENTIONALLY MESS UP A GAME DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT THEY HAD THAT IN THEM? I DOUBT IT. ANYWAY NAVASOTA WE ARE PROUD OF YOU AND ALL THAT YOU HAVE DONE FOR THIS TOWN THIS YEAR. KEEP IT UP I AM SURE THAT WE WILL ALL BE FOLLOWING YOU TO THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP NEXT YEAR. WE ARE PROUD OF OUR NAVASOTA RATTLER... When Williams finally gets tired of the town's excuses or gets fired - and he will given history, hire ex-Hornet Ricky Lock from Gonzales since he has some vested interest in his own alma mater. He wouldn't tolerate the crap that goes on here or players willing to accept mediocrity on the field. Anyone not disgusted by China Spring's 3-point win over Rockdale two weeks ago after Caldwell beat Rockdale by 13 two months ago. Oh yea - China Spring beat this "unknown" team from Kirbyville by 21 for anyone who happens to care! "Tradition" is when you wonder how many points you'll win by, not when you consider showing up or daydreaming about the best deer lease or dance hall where you'd RATHER be "playing." Learn from Palacios where they made the playoffs after a 46-year drought and have made it count. They're playing in their 14th game next week for the four or five people in Caldwell who even read scores 15 miles outside of the Bryan METROPOLIS.

To "yellow Jacket". Here you go again. I guess your son didn't get to be the star that you think he is so you are going to try to drag down the coaches and players that gave it 100% to have the successful 2007 FB Season that we had. Let me give you a little insight from past experience. If the coaches did play the best players both ways, you would be crying about that. I've heard it before. "Its not fair my son doesnt get to play because little Johnny gets to play both ways and on special teams." And if you knew what you were talking about you would know that only 4 players on the team that hit the field belonged to the catagory of people that you described and they deserved to be there. And if what you say is true maybe you should think about putting in some thankless volunteer hours and see if it plays out like that. Quite complaining and if you don't like the program move to Cameron. I'm sure you would fit in great with the low lifes over there.

Hornet SWARM. .please stop embarrassing us. The City of Caldwell

Posted by: Tired of the whining on Dec 1, 2007 at 09:08 PM
Yellow jackets - You are incorrect on many points. Quit whining and get over it. It's time to move on. The President of the School Board's son played on JV. The majority of the Booster Club's Moms have kids on the JV, freshmen and girls teams. The President of the Booster Club's son doesn't play football, he plays golf. The principal's son can't help it that he is the principal's son. The school district is the largest employer in the county, chances are that kids will have parents associated with the district. It may be time for you to take stock in your own hatefulness. Maybe just maybe it wasn't someone else dashing the memories of others but your own lack of work ethic or team spirit along with a quickness to place blame elsewhere and a quitters attitude. The kids have to want to be in shape and strong as much as the coaches responsibility. We're aren't Cameron and we don't want to be.

Posted by: yellow jackets Location: caldwell on Dec 1, 2007 at 04:28 PM
Caldwell is a good place to raise kids and a good place to live. But it will never have a top notch football team. The coaches are to busy trying to please the Booster Club Mothers and the School Board Member who have kids on the team. If you want to win yearly, play the best players both ways. Coaches its your job to have them in shape and not use that as an excuse to play the booster club members kids. Caldwell will never attract a top notch coach because a top notch coach will not play a kid in a game just because his parents are (principal, president of school board, president of booster club, teacher). I have watched this cycle go on for years. When will the parents of these kids stop cheating the other kids of a life of good memories. I challenge the coaches to do the right thing. Cameron has had a winning program for years because they play the best players both ways. The people in Cameron just want to win. Play the Best Players then you will not have to worry about your job!!!

Let's see. China Spring beats Kirbyville by 21 and Kirbyville beat Caldwell by 21 which totals a 42 point difference between Caldwell and China Spring even though Rockdale lost to China Spring in bi-district by 3 and Caldwell beat Rockdale by 13. Can't get any more proof than that to spell out that Caldwell didnt' show up to play last week.

Hey Touché...are you from Caldwell as your post says, or were you just not wanting to admit you are Stung Back from Navasota, since you got stung with my last post? (By the way, you are way off on my age, but you are way off on a lot of things, so it's not surprising.) If you are from Caldwell, I am ashamed to know that peoople like you would turn on your own from your own town. If you are from Navasota, then enough said...lick those wounds, Liberty Hill did some MAJOR damage tonight.

We're ready to go out there tonight and show Liberty Hill what it's like to play a real team. Don't wish us luck if you're gonna talk us down.

Hey Stung Back, it's funny to see that you have nothing better to do with your time than research Caldwell football stats! And you act as if you are telling us something we did not already know...how sad a life you must have! Grow up and get a life and quit worrying about what Caldwell has or has not done. We are proud of our team this year and nothing you or anyone else can say will change that!

Caldwell must have been hunting a side dish of deer to go with the crow whose leftovers are still abundant. Maybe they can use today's Bryan Eagle article on Navasota as their napkin. Just did research on Texas football files. Caldwell is one of only 14 Class 3A schools to never make it past two playoff rounds in SCHOOL HISTORY! Ouch.

Way to go Rattlers! * To you:('06) who stated that DP can't win all the games for the offense alone, you're RIGHT, it's call TEAMWORK. What games have you been attending,the last time I ck'd DP wasn't on the field by himself. Have you not seen #6 aka (HEAD) open up the hole for him week after week. You're obviously not a true RATTLER FAN. Our Offense as a team is potent and unstoppable and our Defense will come thru! Come on HEAD, push that TRAIN to the end zone! Beat Liberty Hill...ITs SHOWTIME 11/30/07.

dream on You are a fool to say that it was a wasted season long effort. Although we are dissappointed with the season ending loss, as is every playoff team that does not win the state championship, it was still a well deserved, enjoyable turn around season. Every winning tradition has to start somewhere. Maybe we can make a tradition out of Thanksgiving football.

Caldwell fell from 12th to 28th after the game. I think that pretty much sums up the wasted seasonlong effort. Now we can welcome back a loaded Cameron team, a resurgent Rockdale team and unbeaten Bellville or Navasota sub-varsities that could be in a district after realignment. Oh well.

Oh yeah, he knows it's just a game and life goes on, and that only people like you lose sleep over such a thing. Grow up! I promise if you look around you, there are much more important things than a high school playoff football game that you could worry about.

I have been reading the posts on this blog since it was started back when the players were in two-a-days. I have no vested interest in the team (I am not a parent, player, girlfriend, band member). Just a fan of the Hornets because I graduated from there. I must say I am really shocked at the negativity that some of you put on here. Please consider that these young men are still just that, they are not "adults" with all the worldly knowledge that some of you think you have. They are a team of young men who did their best and made our city proud and did something that only a few from Caldwell have done in the past. Stop insulting them and let them be proud of their accomplishments. I am proud of them and wish them all the best, and to the seniors, I hope you all are successful adults and have a great future ahead of you.

I'm embarrased to reside in a place with the likes of some of these idiots who are spreading their infinite wisdom. If you think Coach Williams' coaching style is affected by how much he is paid, then you obviously don't know him. He is a great role model for our young men in the community and those in his program. He has his priorities straight and tries to keep a blend of work and family. He would never let something like salary affect the way he coaches or how hard he works. Only someone a narrow minded as the person that posted that foolishness would do something like that, and well that probably explains why you do what you do, and he has a good job and is looked up to by most people in our community. Please go away and don't fill this space with the stupidity you've been throwing. Face it our boys had a good season, but came up on the short end in the 2nd round. End of story.

wondering what coulda been you need to just be proud of your team.. Obviously winning state is the most important thing to you. It's how hard the team has played and fought to get to the playoffs . All you need to do is be PROUD of your team and continue to show your support for the school. STOP the negative comments and stop beating up the players.NISD will be let out early on Friday so we can go and support our RATTLERS.. With Willimas earning less than $50,000, you basically get what you pay for! If you want a program like those in the past or present at Sealy, Cuero, Permian, Southlake Carroll, Celina, La Marque or Stephenville, you provide a reason for the coaches to get more motivated. Knowing he earns in the bottom quarter of all Central Texas coaches most certainly played has to have affected initiative. Who can blame him?

Navasota, you made it to the third round when you were picked to lose half the season so it's a piece of cake for you to say how proud the fans should be. You've been to state in football and went unbeaten in basketball for a state title in that, too. So save your sermon. You can't preach to a choir whose members haven't even been to the church yet.

Posted by: True Blue Location: Navasota on Nov 27, 2007 at 10:33 AM
AS I read the comments on this page It really disturbs me that fans would say such horrible things about their high school football team. They kids have worked hard all summer to prepare for the season and you the fans attend the games every Friday to show your support. And when they get into the playoffs and lose you beat them up with words... How rude is that!!! If you were really a true loyal fan you would be PROUD OF YOUR TEAM AND ALL THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THEY HAVE MADE THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. NO matter of they win or lose you would still be proud of them. Enough said... Now on to the Rattlers and Liberty Hill on Friday. Whether we win or lose we are proud of the RATTLERS.... GO RATTLERS BEAT LIBERTY HILL....GO BIG BLUE..

Caldwell has ALWAAAAAAAAAYS been prejudiced toward Copperas Hollow buds. Where the hell have you all been for 30 years? Mark my word: Never in the history of the universe will the Caldwell Hornets ever, ever, EVER play for a state football title. As for the band, it was absolutely atrocious as it has been for 14 years. It just works on maybe four songs to perform at halftime and has real professionals to come in and fine-tune the dozens of errors and carelessness the director is clueless about. A nice guy? Sure, maybe, but something's dreadfully and predictably wrong when the band gets blasted off the field every single game of the year. Don't you people get tired of hearing the same four or five tunes played every weeks not to mention the same two or three tunes played in the stands that are on par with other programs' eighth grade bands? Boooooring

Hey Hornet SWARM or SwaRM or whichever way you decide RM is typed, please "P"mom, get a clue and read between the lines. Those parents left way before the game was over. Local said it exactly. Keep off your boys and maybe next year won't be such an "off" year. Pressure induces negative spark. Local, I do agree about parents trying to live their life but let's face it, every town has their "has beens". That's their purpose. They can't move or get away. Their only purpose is to stay, and make sure their name is spoken over a PA in some fashion. Notice the sponsorship over the HORNET flags. That should explain it all. $$$$$$$ Big smile to the sponsors. Don't get mad, just save money next time and donate to Coach Fran's Fund or a starving child. Your choice. Signed, a stabbed back.

I agree there with you about the hating of the band. It seems that Kirbyville had no band and that a certain group of people have little concepts and too much off season. Tell ya what, you keep positive. We know who rules the "band field." Halftime = The Center Of Entertainment in between quarter 1-2 and 3-4.

Posted by: Localeye Location: Caldwell on Nov 26, 2007 at 11:37 PM
Wooo. Finally, We've got resolve. Good job guys. I agree. Our boys do deserve recognition. They refused to give up and I applaud but the fans fell short. Instead of getting "PIST" they got "PIST" on by their fans that left before the game concluded. Oh Kirbyville felt proud but yet stayed til the end. Should've seen the squealing wheels on the home end. UGH

Posted by: Another Decade of What Ifs Location: Lyons on Nov 26, 2007 at 10:06 PM
Yea Kirbyville, beings that your team only makes the playoff every single year makes it real difficult to offer your consolation prize (about equal to a roll of toilet paper when the day is done). With Bellville, Navasota, Rockdale, Cameron and La Grange with hordes of all-district level returners, the Hornets better brush up on basketball over the summer so they'll be ready for action the second week of November next year.

Oh sure, Navasota, it's easy for you to say that. You at least get the chance to prove yourselves against a defending state champion now. Caldwell and Giddings look like fools. Giddings I can understand because they even admit losing Fitzehenry made a world of difference, but I found out that it was true that quite a few Caldwell players went hunting the VERY NEXT DAY. Boy, they must have been real upset. Condolences to the die-hard fans. Just because a fan is terribly disappointed doesn't make the person a bad fan. It makes him a perceptive one.

Goodness, it seems the cold has brought out the bitter Caldwell posters, we certainly can't call them fans. Dragging up really old games and half-hearted playing,that's uncalled for. If you weren't playing in the game, you can't make that determination. Have you been at every practice and every game? You have no idea what preparation took place. Regarding the Walmart comments, if it happened, it wasn't the feelings of all the players. The saddest thing is that there is one Caldwell tradition that continues and that is the few negative wannabes of past and present take glee in talking trash against their own on the boards. You don't see other communities doing that. So if you want to talk about the same ole, same ole, it's with some poor attitudes of a few and continued bitterness that allows you to enjoy bashing young men who have worked hard. You talk about going on auto pilot, what about you immediately going on negative auto pilot? Could you not applaude them instead?

The Hornet football time played with Pride, Integrity, Strength and Teamwork this year, and you probably don't even know the meaning behind that. So sit at your computer and live your SAD little life thru the internet, because the TRUE Hornet Fans know what these YOUNG MEN are all about, because we have been out there with them all season. And they are not worrying about the likes of people like YOU!

Hey c-well I thought you said Sims wasn't out? Well you are right about one thing. it is obvious your coach didn't prepare the team as though he was out..... and we thought Canto was supposed to be all the glory. not impressed. like someone said your team always waits until the last minute to try to pull off a surprise. too little too late. same ole same ole same ole same ole.

Posted by: R Grabarschick Location: Snook on Nov 25, 2007 at 02:03 PM
I hate to admit it but I agree about the Hornets playing half-heartedly without Sims. They gave up in '81 when the team was 5-0 before QB Travis Williams got hurt against La Grange and then lost all five district games, and they did it in '84 after Goforth went down in a bi-district win vs. Navasota before losing to Sweeny, and again in '93 when an injured Stone was a junior and missed the last regular season game vs. Elgin that caused an 8-1 team to lose 32-7 and miss the post-season. Just ask Giddings. When you go on auto pilot and let one star player do all the work, they either get injured or wear down and run out of gas. Caldwell has a helluva challenge next year with mostly anonymous players returning.

Posted by: More annual excuses? Location: Caldwell on Nov 25, 2007 at 01:57 PM
OK, now for input from someone BESIDES biased players' friends and parents on here who try to sneak in their kids' names for free recognition. Caldwell came into this game thinking they had it won - plain and simple. It's the flattest I have seen the team not just this year, but in decades and with everything including history on the line. I said from the get-go that there was more pep at a funeral. What iced the cake though was earlier in the day at Caldwell's Wal-Mart when about six players were in the sporting goods department talking about how badly it sucked that the playoffs were during HUNTING SEASON! One player even commented that he didn't care that much if they didn't advance after that night's game because Giddings had lost, anyway, so the person who said what they did on here about Caldwell not caring as much since they couldn't play Giddings again since they lost to West Orange-Stark Friday was right on target! 25 seniors and then this? It was K'ville's third biggest win!

Posted by: Hornet Location: SwarM on Nov 25, 2007 at 12:20 PM
Hornets, you are awesome. Localeye - Shame on you, just plain shame on you. Nothing like eating your own. Pep rallies were similiar to most communities and held on home game days with one community pep rally for post district. There isn't a football team that isn't state bound from the first day of two-a days through non-district and district games. And once district is over, it is state bound games. The Hornets have excelled in focusing on one week at a time. What you see as pressure, may be support. Sometimes there is more pressure from trying to overcome negative people like yourself. It's an example of the pot calling the kettle black. Pressure from zealous parent or pressure from half-empty glass mentality is still pressure. Your half-hearted attempt of some support is lost in your post. You are right, the team deserves more...more than the likes of you. Hornets, you have nothing to be ashamed of. You have played like the champions you are!

Posted by: bruce Location: brenham on Nov 25, 2007 at 10:53 AM
THE CALDWELL FANS AND PLAYERS DO TOO MUCH TRASH TALKING ABOUT THEIR FOOTBALL TEAM. NO WONDER YOU CAN NOT ADVANCE BEYOND THE SECOND ROUND OF THE FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS, ESPECIALLY SINCE YOU HAVE DONE IT SO FEW TIMES SINCE 1939: SHUT UP AND FOCUS YOUR EFFORTS ON TEAM PREPARATION AND YOU MIGHT HAVE MORE SUCESS IN THE PLAYOFFS: FORMER DISTRICT FOES SUCH AS CAMERON AND ROCKDALE HAVE HAD FAR MORE SUCCESS THAN YOU, AND EACH HAS WON A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN FOOTBALL. CALDWELL WILL NEVER WIN STATE OR HAVE MUCH SUCCESS UNLESS YOU GET THE POLITICS OUT OF YOUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM:

Hope the best for you Xavier. You are all STATE. Sorry the adults ruined it for you and your boys. Hopefully the talk of "state" for the team will wait until a later date next year for the guys. I only hope that the loss by Giddings to West Orange-Stark doesn't take any wind out of Caldwell's sails because of all the trash talking about a dumb rematch with the Buffs that won't happen now. We should be thinking instead that it's one less opponent to worry about keeping us from going the distance! Stay focused, team - sunshine, rain or snow! Go Hornets!

Posted by: SWARM Location: HOME OF THE SWARM on Nov 24, 2007 at 09:05 AM
Okay Giddings boys! Don't get up set over the loss! Yall played with heart! Be proud of the effort that you showed against WOS! Prepare for basketball, track, etc and we will see ya on the field next year! Brock good luck at UT!

No wonder people warned us to stay off this board. Too much trash talking. But I must say to the Jasper fellow, Dexter isn't all that overrated is he? You guys blitzed the crud out of us all night, but Dexter doesn't just run, he catches. Jacolby passed for 285 yards, Dexter ran for 115 on 17 carries. Good defense, just didn't quite get it done tonight. I will give the Bulldogs props though, I sure don't want to face ya'll next year. Bailey is a quick little sophomore.

The Hornets no longer have a tradition of playing catch up. It has died. Hornets, stay true to your game plan, execute well and play like the champions you are. Trash talk and nay-sayers don't have the heart and determination you do. Hang in and hang tough and make the Wildcats play your game. The victory will be yours, no doubt.

Posted by: Hornet Location: C-well on Nov 22, 2007 at 01:47 PM
~~~STING EM HORNETS~~~ Play the entire game, every second of it
Posted by: BrngDaSting Location: Caldwell, TX Baby! on Nov 22, 2007 at 09:10 AM
If Sims is out (and I heard he is), what does that mean for our Hornets?
Posted by: Prepareth For A Fight Location: C-town on Nov 21, 2007 at 04:52 PM
Kirbyville wants to win this game as much as we do, Caldwell. Don't forget that!
Posted by: Words To Live By Location: CALDWELL on Nov 21, 2007 at 04:17 PM
If the Hornets play with the intensity and fury they did against Robinson and La Grange in the first half, Kirbyville better be afraid - very afraid. On the other hand, if they play nervous (like Bellville in '06) or resort to playing catch-up (a Caldwell tradition that needs to die), it's curtains on the season. Guys, there may be never be another senior-laden Hornet team to have this much talent, so stay alert, think history and play each and EVERY down like it could be the last one in your life - because it could very well be. Recite the fight song - and live by it. (...forever uphold that spirit and your courage will never die). Something inspired those words for a reason! 2007 .... The Beginning of Greatness! Swarm, Sting, Stun!
NAVASOTA YOU SUCK U TALK TO MUCH TRASH AND WE WILL KILL YALL DEXTER PRATT UR OVERATED WE WILL PROVE THAT OUR DEFENSE WILL SHUT YALL DOWN ITS OVER FOR NAVASOTA DID I TELL YALL YOU SUCK!!!!!!!
Posted by: FatherJohn Location: Caldwell on Nov 21, 2007 at 02:52 PM
Caldwell should win against Kirbyville if they play the way they did in the 2nd half last week against Columbus. If they play like the first half it is anybodies game.
Posted by: nobody Location: caldwell on Nov 21, 2007 at 01:43 PM
It seems like many of you players like to read this to see what people are saying. That's great, you are lucky to still be in the race at this point. Don't take that for granted, you are only one loss away from elimination. Hornets you are talented enough to accomplish great things, like state champions. Remember there are no weak teams left. Each week is a new challenge and only the strong survive. I challenge the Hornet defense this week to get off the field before the other team scores. Offenses scores points, defenses win CHAMPIONSHIPS! It doesn't matter how hard you hit if you can't tackle. There are no stats for hard hits behind the line of scrimmage, only tackles and tackles for losses. If we make tackles the other night instead of throughing shoulders the game isn't even close. Keep your head up, eyes open and for goodness sake WRAP UP!
Bring your umbrellas and tough it out through possible rain, Caldwell. Forecast not favorable in Humble Saturday.
Rose pedals to Humble? At least Texas Orange will win twice this week because A&M has no chance. Go hornets and go band!
Web site says that turf toe takes several weeks to heal, so it could still spell doomsday for the Hornets' attempt to balance its offense.
Posted by: colby Location: giddings on Nov 20, 2007 at 09:13 AM
It's his ankle, and there is a possibility of ligament damage. He could be done. We are awaiting further evaluation from a specialist and the coaches are keeping it very hush hush.
Posted by: BrngDaSting Location: Caldwell, TX Baby! on Nov 20, 2007 at 09:11 AM
Sims has turf toe and not a fracture? Why didn't he play the rest of the game after he fumbled and got hurt then?
