SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Justin Leonard sank a 10-foot birdie putt on
the third playoff hole to beat Jesper Parnevik at the PGA's Texas
Open in San Antonio.
Leonard closed with a 5-under-par 65 and outlasted Parnevik to
win the tournament for the third time. Leonard finished 19-under in
his eleventh PGA title and first since 2005.
Parnevik entered the round with a three-shot lead but fell short
in a bid for his first PGA title in six and a-half years. Leonard
made up four strokes on Parnevik in the final round.
Daniel Chopra (CHOH'-prah) and Mathias Gronberg finished in a
tie for third at 16-under.
