TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - Lute Olson, the long-time head basketball
coach at Arizona, has announced that he is taking a leave of
absence for unspecified personal reasons. The 73-year-old released
a statement saying it's in the best interest of the school and team
that he take the leave and that it is not medically related.
He'll be replaced by assistant coach Kevin O'Neill. Arizona is
ranked 17th in the pre-season Associated Press poll. Olson has a
record of 780-and-280 in 34 seasons as a major college coach.
