LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Arkansas State has called a Wednesday
news conference to announce its new basketball coach and there's a
strong indication John Brady will get the job.

Brady was fired by LSU last month, less than two seasons after
leading the Tigers to the Final Four. He's been in talks with
Arkansas State, which has had an opening since Dickey Nutt resigned
February 19th.

Board of Trustees Chairman Mike Gibson says the school has been
talking to Brady but no contract has been signed.

Arkansas State went 10-and-20 this season and hasn't made the
NCAA tournament since 1999.
