HOUSTON (AP) - J.R. Towles and Michael Bourn homered to lead the Houston Astros over the Florida Marlins 5-1 on Sunday.
Lance Berkman added an RBI double for the Astros, who've won two in a row for the first time this season.
Wandy Rodriguez pitched well again at Minute Maid Park, striking
out seven and allowing five hits in seven strong innings. A week
ago, he pitched 7 1-3 scoreless innings at home against St. Louis,
but didn't get a decision in the Astros' 5-3 victory. He's 1-and-0
on the year.
Last year, Rodriguez had a 2.94 ERA at Minute Maid Park and the
Astros won 11 of the 15 games he started there.
Florida's Burke Badenhop lasted six-plus innings in his first
major league start. He allowed seven hits with three strikeouts and
a walk.
The Marlins obtained the 25-year-old pitcher in the deal that
sent Dontrelle Willis and Miguel Cabrera to Detroit.
