AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Chicaco Bears running back and former Texas star Cedric Benson was arrested in Austin early this morning on
drunken-driving charges.
Austin police say they pulled over the 25-year-old after he ran
a red light downtown. Authorities say Benson failed a field
sobriety test and was charged with driving while intoxicated.
It's the second alcohol-related arrest for Benson in just over a
month.
In May, Benson was charged with boating while intoxicated and
resisting arrest. He's said that neither of those charges are true.
In Chicago today, Bears general manager Jerry Angelo says
"disappointment" is a word the team has had to use too often in
connection with their former first-round pick of the 2005 draft.
