HOUSTON (AP) - Wandy Rodriguez allowed one run in five innings
for his first victory since last summer, and the Houston Astros
beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-to-2 to capture their second
straight series.
Houston won its second straight over Arizona after taking three
of four at Cincinnati in its previous series.
Rodriguez, who had been winless since July second, allowed four
hits while improving to 1-and-3. He was the last remaining Astros
starter without a victory this season.
Arizona's Doug Davis lasted just four and a-third innings in his
shortest start of the season. He allowed four runs, four hits and
four walks and is now 2-0 at home but 0-4 on the road this year.
Houston's Craig Biggio had three hits to increase his total to two-thousand-966, taking sole possession of 28th place on the all-time list.
