SECAUCUS, N.J.-- The Portland Trail Blazers will have the number-one pick in next month's N.B.A.draft.
The Blazers won the draft lottery tonight, giving them he
opportunity to take either Greg Oden or Kevin Durant. Portland
entered the lottery with just a five-point-three-percent chance of
winning the number-one pick.
The Seattle SuperSonics landed the second pick while Atlanta
received the third. The Hawks would have had to send their pick to
Phoenix if they didn't wind up with a top-three selection.
Memphis will choose fourth and Boston will pick fifth. The
Grizzlies and Celtics dropped in the lottery after posting the
league's worst records this season.
Milwaukee has the sixth pick, followed by Minnesota, Charlotte,
Chicago and Sacramento.
