ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Gary Sheffield sparked the Tigers'
offense for the second straight night as Detroit crushed Texas
Sheffield led off the Tigers' six-run third inning with his 15th
homer of the season, one night after providing a pair of two-run
homers and five R-B-Is to a 10-to-0 win. Sheffield went 2-for-5
with two R-B-Is as part of Detroit's 17-hit attack.
Curtis Granderson had three hits, drove in three runs and scored
twice. Magglio Ordonez also had three hits and Brandon Inge added three ribbies.
Mike Maroth struggled over five innings but improved to 4-and-2,
giving up three runs and eight hits in five innings.
Kameron Loe was rocked for nine runs in two and two-thirds,
dropping him to 1-and-6 with a seven-point-40 E-R-A.
Mark Teixeira homered in the Rangers' 12th loss in 15 games.
