ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Michael Young singled off Francisco
Cordero with two outs in the ninth to lead the Texas Rangers to a
come-from-behind 4-to-3 victory over Milwaukee.
Brewers closer Cordero had converted all 23 of his save chances
entering this game. He retired the first two batters he faced in
the ninth before it all unraveled.
With Texas trailing 3-to-0, Brad Wilkerson hit a two-out single,
Ramon Vazquez walked and Gerald Laird hit an R-B-I single. Kenny
Lofton followed with a run-scoring single and Marlon Byrd tied it
with an R-B-I single.
Young then lined a single up the middle to give the Rangers the
surprising win and send Cordero to his first blown save of the
season. Cordero is 0-and-1.
Frank Francisco allowed two runs and two hits in the ninth, but
got the win. He's 1-and-0.
