NEW YORK -- Houston pitcher Roy Oswalt will make his third All-Star game appearance Tuesday in San Francisco.
The veteran right-hander is replacing Atlanta's John Smoltz on the
National League All-Star roster.
The Braves right-hander is scheduled to meet with team doctors
about continuing discomfort in his throwing shoulder.
Because Smoltz was one of five starting pitchers elected through
the player ballot, his replacement was the pitcher with the
sixth-highest number of votes.
Oswalt is 7-and-5 with a three-point-52 E-R-A.
