ATLANTA (AP) - Texas A-and-M standout Acie Law signed his first
N-B-A contract -- then was eager to call home with the big news.
Atlanta Hawks coach Mike Woodson had other plans.
Point guards must worry about calling plays before calling moms.
Law says Woodson followed him into the locker room to say --
"We're waiting on you to start practice."
Law signed yesterday, went to practice -- then had two more
workouts today.
It was the Aggie's first opportunity to prove he can be an N-B-A
point guard and not just another shooting guard who will pretend to
play the point.
Law was the number eleven pick in last month's draft.
He ranked fifth in the Big 12 with his average of 18-point-one
points per game last season.
Law is part of the Hawks summer league team.
