PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Greg Oden is expected to miss the rest of
the Portland Trail Blazers' summer league games in Las Vegas. The
top pick in the N-B-A draft needs to have his tonsils removed.
The 19-year-old Oden is scheduled to travel to Los Angeles for
the taping of the ESPY awards and then likely return to Portland
for a tonsillectomy, according to the team. A date for surgery has
yet to be set.
Oden's recovery is expected to take about two weeks.
The seven-footer out of Ohio State scored six points and had two
rebounds before fouling out of his pro debut with ten fouls. That's
the maximum allowed in the summer league.
In his second game, a fatigued Oden finished with 13 points,
five rebounds and nine fouls.
