JOIGNY, France (AP) - Thor Hushovd won today's fourth stage of the Tour de France while Swiss rider Fabian Cancellara retained the overall lead for a fifth straight day.
The Norwegian narrowly beat South Africa's Robert Hunter in a
sprint finish after nearly 120 miles on a mostly flat course.
Hushovd moves into second place in the overall standings, 29
seconds behind Cancellara.
Spaniard Xavier Zandio is done after breaking his right
collarbone in a crash early in the stage. He is the third rider to
drop out from the Tour due to injury.
Tomorrow the riders will embark on a more mountainous stage.
Then, on Saturday, the race reaches the Alps for three days, where
the climbers most likely will move closer to the overall lead.
