Fish Net Win, Keep Bonds In Check

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The Florida Marlins cracked 17 hits and
kept Barry Bonds homerless in an 8-to-5 win over the San Francisco
Giants.
Bonds went 1-for-4, reaching on an infield single. He remains at
754 home runs, one shy of Hank Aaron's all-time record. Bonds
grounded out twice and broke his bat on a flyout to right field. He
reached base in the eighth when catcher Miguel Olivo misplayed a popup. The play was originally ruled an error.
The Giants are off Monday before starting a six-game road trip
in Los Angeles against the Dodgers Tuesday night.
Florida avoids the three-game sweep, rallying from a 5-2
deficit. Jason Wood singled home the go-ahead run in the seventh.
Miguel Cabrera went 4-for-5 with a homer and three r-b-i's.
Sergio Mitre improves to 5-and-5 giving up five runs
on six hits over six and two-thirds innings.
The loss went to Matt Morris who is 7-and-7.
