DURHAM, N.C. – Duke sophomore running back Jela Duncan has been suspended from the institution for violation of university academic policy. He is eligible to return for the Spring, 2015 semester.
Duncan will not play in the upcoming Chick-fil-A Bowl on December 31 when No. 22 Duke (10-3) meets No. 20 Texas A&M (8-4).
Playing in 13 games this season, Duncan rushed for a team-high 562 yards and three touchdowns on 113 attempts. In addition, the Charlotte, N.C., native caught 13 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown.
In 26 career games at Duke, Duncan has rushed 222 times for 1,115 yards and seven touchdowns while catching 32 passes for 212 yards and one touchdown.
