ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Right-hander Alexi Ogando likely will miss his next start for the Texas Rangers because of inflammation around a nerve in his right shoulder.

General manager Jon Daniels said Friday that Ogando is on medication that has eased some of the symptoms. But the pitcher could also have an injection that would keep him from pitching Monday against Houston.

Ogando had a CT scan on Wednesday, a day after throwing 73 pitches over 6 1-3 innings in a loss to Milwaukee. He complained of soreness in his shoulder after that, his fifth since coming off the disabled list.

Ogando (5-4) has been on the DL twice this season. He missed three weeks with right biceps tendinitis, then made only one start before going back on the DL with right shoulder inflammation.
