SUGAR LAND, TX -- Sam Houston State's Shelby Hardy earned her second individual medalist championship of the 2011-12 season and the third title of her Bearkat career Tuesday.

The junior took individual honors at the Houston Baptist Husky Invitational played on the par 72, 6,026-yard course at Riverbend Country Club at Sugar Land, Texas.

Hardy fired a eight-over par score of 73-70-74--222 to finish first.

Lamar fired a final round 294 to pass Sam Houston in the team standings and earn the tournament overall title Tuesday.

The Cardinals 54-hole total was 910, nine strokes ahead of Sam Houston's runner-up score of 919.

Houston Baptist and Redlands Community College tied for third at 933.

Other Sam Houston individual finishes and scores were Jackie Smith 5th 73-73-80--226, Meghan Musk 14th 77-78-77-232, Jessica Borth 21st 81-78-80--239, Jenna Stene 43rd 87-79-84--250, Laura Reynolds 55th 89-84-82--255 and Sarah St. John 61st 89-82-90--261.
