HAMMOND, Louisiana -- The Sam Houston men’s golf team finished second at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Southeastern Louisiana. The hosts won the event played on the on the par 72, 7,104-yard course.
Sam Houston produced a two-day, 54-hole team total of 297-289-288-874.
Albert Miner and Justin McKay were both tied for third at the tournament. Miner birdied 12 holes and shot 72-69-72-213. McKay finished with 11 birdies and shot 70-72-71-213.
JT Taylor also finished strong. Taylor was 16th and shot 79-72-70-221. Chase Chapman was 36th (78-76-78-232) and Logan Boatner was 40th (77-81-75-233).
Southeastern Louisiana won the team title with a score of 861. Sam Houston was tied for second with Austin Peay.
