Bearkats No. 6 In Both National Polls

Sam Houston State jumped to No. 6 this week in both the Sports Network and NCAA Coaches polls for the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision Monday.

The Bearkats defeated Nicholls State 41-0, Sam Houston's second shutout in the past two season and SHSU's third victory in a row.

The Kats are one of three Southland Conference teams listed in the national rankings.

Central Arkansas stands No. 17 in the NCAA Coaches Poll and 19 in the Sports Network rankings. McNeese State dropped out of the Sports Network poll but is No. 21 in the Coaches Poll.

Sam Houston State and McNeese State battle at SHSU Homecoming Saturday at 7 p.m. at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium.
