SAN ANTONIO -- Sam Houston State and South Dakota State played to a scoreless draw after 110 minutes of play at the UTSA Classic. The Bearkats are now 1-1-1 and will play at North Texas Friday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m.
The Jackrabbits applied most of the pressure throughout the game. Sam Houston was outshot 27-4 and sophomore goalkeeper Kylie Hambleton had to make 12 saves. Hambleton’s 12 stops tied her career high.
Sam Houston only managed one shot on goal in the match and just four total shots. The Kats also had just two corner kicks to South Dakota State’s 14.
Freshman defender Miriah Hadley picked up a yellow card in the 13th minute while Caylee Costello was booked in the 47th minute.
The Bearkats will host Prairie View A&M at Pritchett Field Sunday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m.
