Sam Houston State senior wide receiver Trey Diller will play in the National Football League Players Association Collegiate All-Star Game Jan. 19 in Carson, Calif. The game will be televised on ESPN2.

Diller led the Bearkats in receiving this season with 62 catches for 927 yards and four touchdowns. He also has been effective as a return specialist, ranking third in the Southland in both punt returns and kickoffs. He finished the season as the league's all-purpose yards leader.

The senior from the Woodlands, Texas became the first Sam Houston player to receive All-Southland Conference honors at both wide receiver and return specialist.

In Diller's career he had 1,190 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. He caught two touchdowns during the 2011 FCS Playoff run to the national championship game.

For one week preceding the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl, participants will receive an in-depth introduction to their union - the primary resource for players for information on the business of football and how to succeed in the NFL and in their post-football careers. Additionally, pro-football players and coaching legends will work with the game's future stars, giving them first-hand insight on what it takes to win on and off of the field.

The two all-star teams will be coached by Dick Vermeil and Herm Edwards.
