Sam Houston sophomore Kylie Hambleton was named as Southland Conference soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Southeastern Louisiana’s Kelsey Salcido received the offensive award while her teammate Alexis Cable earned defensive honors.
Hambleton played every minute of Sam Houston State’s two matches over the weekend, including a double overtime tie against South Dakota State.
Hambleton, who hails from Katy, Texas (Seven Lakes H.S.), faced a total of 44 shots in the two contests, including 27 against the Jackrabbits. She tied her career high for saves in a single game with 12 against South Dakota State while tallying a total of 17 saves on the week.
The next action for Sam Houston State will be on the road at North Texas Friday followed by a home match against Prairie View Sunday at 7 p.m. at Pritchett Field.
