Kats No. 2 in Both FCS Polls

North Dakota State took over the No. 1 spot in both NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) national polls Monday after a 22-7 victory Saturday over Colorado State.

Sam Houston State, previously No. 1 in the Sports Network FCS poll, fell to No. 2. The Bearkats were ranked No. 2 in the FCS Coaches Poll last week.

The Bearkats defeated Incarnate Word 54-7 in the Bearkats' first game of the 2012 season last week.

Montana State stands No. 3 in both polls.

Other Southland Conference teams in the rankings include McNeese State (No. 19 in both polls), Central Arkansas (No. 20 in the Coaches' poll) and Stephen F. Austin (No. 23 in the Sports Network).

Sam Houston State plays the Baylor Bears Saturday in Waco, then begins its Southland Conference schedule Saturday Sept. 22 at Central Arkansas.
