BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- Sam Houston State scored five runs off LSU ace Aaron Nola in the bottom of the first, but could not keep the lead and lost 8-5 to the Tigers Saturday night.
Three LSU errors led to the five Bearkat runs to give Sam Houston a 5-1 lead after one inning of play.
The Tigers scored twice in the second and once in the third to pull within 5-4. The game remained 5-4 until the 8th, when LSU pushed four runs across to pick up the win.
Sam Houston State will face Louisiana-Lafayette in an elimination game Sunday at 2 p.m. The winner will play LSU Sunday night at 7 p.m.
