SAM HOUSTON WOMEN’S GOLF

Led by Shelby Hardy and Nicole Budnik who finished 11th and 15th in the individual standings, the Sam Houston women's golf team tied for sixth place at the McNeese State Invitational Monday and Tuesday.
The tournament, the women's first event of their 2013 spring semester schedule, was held on the par 72 course at LeTriomple Country Club.

Lamar won the team championship with a 930 total in the 54-hole event. The Cardinals' Ghni Ngo won the individual medalist championship with a 10-over total of 74-80-72--226.

Xavier was the team runner-up with a 943, followed by McNeese 950, Houston Baptist 957 and Toledo 966. Sam Houston and Florida Gulf Coast tied for sixth with 967 totals. Sixteen teams participated.

Hardy fired a 79-76-80--235 and Budnik shot 82-76-79--236. Other Sam Houston scores included Jenna Stene 39th 83-83-81--247, Abigayle Corson 47th 84-86-80--250 and Meghan Musk 52nd 82-86-85--253.
