Central Arkansas, the only Southland Conference women's basketball still unbeaten in league action, comes to Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum Thursday to put its 4-0 record on the line against 3-1 Sam Houston State in a 5:30 p.m. contest.

The Bearkats are part of a three-way tie for second place along with Nicholls State and Oral Roberts.

All-Southland Conference Megan Herbert, who has scored more than 2,000 career points for UCA, leads the Bears. She is one of two current Division I women's basketball players with 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds, joining Baylor's Brittney Griner.

Two All-Southland Conference forwards, seniors Britni Martin and Sequeena Thomas, lead Sam Houston.

Hebert ranks second in the league in scoring this season with an 18.9 average. Martin stands fifth with a 17.3 scoring mean and Thomas is seventh in the league with a 13.8 mark.

Thomas and Hebert rank one and two in the Southland in rebounds with averages of 12.4 and 10.9 boards, respectively.

Thursday's Central Arkansas tilt is the first of two home games this weekend for the Bearkat women.

Sam Houston will play host to the newest member of the Southland Conference, Oral Roberts, Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Johnson Coliseum.

All Sam Houston women's basketball games are carried live by KSAM 101.7 FM.
