Texas A&M to Face No. 21 Bearkats Tuesday Night

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The ninth-ranked Texas A&M baseball team returns to the diamond Tuesday night when it makes the short drive to Hunstville, Texas, to face No. 21 Sam Houston State in a 6:30 p.m. contest at Sanders Stadium.

The Aggies (31-13) will send freshman Daniel Mengden to the mound after the right-hander made his first career start last Tuesday at TCU and threw six strong innings against the Horned Frogs. The Bearkats (31-12), who are led by first-year head coach David Pierce, enter the week holding the top spot in the Southland Conference standings with a 19-5 league mark.

TEXAS A&M/SAM HOUSTON STATE SERIES NOTABLES
Texas A&M owns a 84-37-2 advantage in the all-time series with Sam Houston State and has gone 15-1-1 against SHSU since 2002. Last season, the Bearkats earned a 8-5 win against the Aggies in College Station on April 26.

UP NEXT
Following Tuesday night’s affair, the Aggies will host in-state rival Texas Tech in a three-game series on Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park. Friday night’s game is slated to be televised on Cox Sports.
