Two SHSU Juniors Named All-Southland Women's Golf

Shelby Hardy earned All-Southland Conference honors for the third time and Meghan Musk picked up her first post-season honor as the two Sam Houston State student-athletes earned berths on the 2012 women's golf all-league team.

Hardy is one of five first team selections. Musk was named All-Southland honorable mention. Hardy also was a second team all-league pick as a freshman in 2010 and was voted to the first team in 2011.

The junior from San Saba tied for sixth in the Southland championship tournament in Blanco. Hardy was the Bearkats' top individual performer in nine of the team's 11 tournaments this year. She led the SHSU team in stroke average for the third year in a row with a 75.71 mean in 31 rounds. Her 2012 stroke average is the fourth lowest in the Bearkat record books

Hardy won individual medalist championships at both the Butler University and Houston Baptist tournaments this spring. The wins bring her career tournament victory total to three titles, one short of the SHSU school record.

Hardy owns a three-year career stroke average of 76.24, the second best in Sam Houston women's golf annals.

Musk ranked second on the 2012 squad with a 77.84 stroke average. The junior from San Antonio tied for 11th in the Southland championships and posted three other top 10 individual finishes.
