COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M Soccer sophomore Allie Bailey was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced today.
Bailey earned MVP honors at the Texas A&M Invitational after registering two goals in as many games, including the lone goal in the Aggies’ 1-0 win over Saint Mary’s on Sunday.
In Friday night’s win over No. 16 Rutgers, Bailey gave Texas A&M an insurance goal early in the second half with a penalty kick goal.
The Aggies captured the tournament crown when Bailey scored the game-winning goal against the Gaels with 7:33 remaining in the match.
The San Diego, Calif., native has started all five games for the Maroon and White this season. She ranks second on the team with four points and third with six shots on goal.
The Aggies (4-1-0) return to action at Ellis Field on Friday with a televised game against nationally ranked Long Beach State. The 6 p.m. contest will be televised on Fox Soccer Channel as a NSCAA College Game of the Week.
